Kootwijkerzand

The "Sahara of the Low Countries," is how Kootwijkerzand is also called. It is an immense sand plain. Several hiking trails have been set out across the largest sand drift in Western Europe. Climb the watchtower for a magnificent view, have a picnic while the children run around or visit Radio Kootwijk: an impressive building that was a broadcasting station in the 1920s.
