Traditionally, the largest steam train festival in the Netherlands takes place in Beekbergen in September. During this weekend, a large number of restored steam locomotives are in operation. With a length of almost 23 metres and a weight of 130 tonnes, these trains are among the largest that have ever run in Europe. There are two event sites, one in Beekbergen and one in Loenen, where there is plenty to do for the whole family! 
You will find a locomotive shed with model railways, a railway market and the museum steam depot, where you can get an impression of the work at a steam depot. There are miniature trains on display, as well as steam rollers, steam tractors and sawing machines.
